How to Read and Write Ford ECU Data with OBDSTAR ECU MASTER

This guide demonstrates how to read and write data for the Ford Continental/Siemens VDO SID212EVO TC297 Engine ECU using OBDSTAR ECU MASTER in BENCH mode.

Required Tools:

Computer

OBDSTAR ECU MASTER

High-Power DC Regulated Power Supply

USB Cable

Jumper Wires

Ford Continental/Siemens VDO SID212EVO TC297 ECU

Step 1: Select the ECU

Open [ECU Flasher] >> [ECM] and search for SID212EVO.

Open [Guide] and carefully check the Warning Reminder, Menu Description, Operation Guide, Special Notes, and Connection Methods before proceeding.

Step 2: Connect the ECU

Go back to the main screen and select: [Pinout] >> [BENCH]

Check that the ECU appearance matches the guide, then click [Connector Pinout].

Follow the pinout diagram to connect the jumper wires correctly.

Once all connections are completed, return to the main screen.

Step 3: Read ECU Data

Select: [Start] >> [BENCH]

Connect the ECU. After the connection is successful, click [Read MAPS (TC297)].

Enter a file name if required. The save path will be displayed on the left.

The ECU data reading is then completed.

Step 4: Write ECU Data

To write the saved data back to the ECU, click [Write MAPS (TC297)].

The CS button indicates checksum support. Select the file you saved earlier.

The device will ask whether to perform a checksum:

Select Yes if the data has been modified and you want to verify the checksum before writing.

Select No if the data has not been modified and you want to write it directly.

When Write successful appears, the data writing process is complete.
